Who's Behind The PR Shop--Wil Alston is the founder and energy behind The PR Shop, LLC. With more than twenty-five years of experience in marketing and public relations, Wil has expertise also in politics & government, higher education, health care, non-profit management, and small business management and promotion. Prior to starting The PR Shop, Wil worked in college admissions and administration for Regis University, University of Denver, University of Colorado, and the Community College of Denver. In addition, he’s held positions that have included: Assistant to the Provost for Minority Affairs (@DU), the Executive Director of the East Denver YMCA, Regional Public Affairs Officer for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), and gained national and regional exposure for his work with the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce where he is credited with playing a major role in re-branding the Denver-based business organization. As a result of those experiences, Wil will bring a tremendous amount of knowledge and skill at engaging the highest levels of officials in business, city, state, and federal government on your behalf.
Most recently, Wil served as deputy director of communications for current Gov. Bill Ritter, Jr. (from 1/2006 to 1/2009). And in addition to managing the projects of The PR Shop, Wil is also the executive director of the Five Points Business District, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of Denver's historic Five Points neighborhood.
